hexed expands on the console discovery application model - efficient input waiting and output build-up to create a hex viewer. It does one thing well. Drop any file and quickly navigate a pleasing display. Customize for the single-byte character sets (SBCS) you use.

Some things that might turn you off:
- late Win10+ only.
- written by proxy with AI mostly. [gpt5.6]
- uses the win32json calm projection.
- uses NEWCOFF bigobj format.

I remember my earlier assembly era, when I wrote a hex viewer, but for hardware real memory (it was a standalone application, booting from legacy 7C00h address, 32-bit mode).
That thing brought me a lot of knowledge on how unsecure computers are.

Maybe one day, I'll try to do something similar to your application for Linux. But I'll never let the coolest ever part to AI for sure (doing the assembly source code entirely myself, by hand). I said maybe, because, so far I use 'hexedit' here, which is good enough and it is being my "hex editor comfort zone" for some years now. It is less featured that yours, by the way...

I must say that I like the name, too...
