I'm just trying to install Menuet on a laptop of mine. It's a Versa V/50 with a 245 gig hd, 15megs of ram, and so forth. It starts to setup fine, and I've selected all the right options during the config process...but when it goes to the black screen where it starts building the different tables, it stops at "Unmasking all IRQs" and just sits there, hung up.

Any advice?

Thanks a lot ~

Could you try the latest pre version. The bug you have, has been reported to disappear with the latest pre-3.9

I guess I could check out pre 3.9. Thanks, I'll let you know if that solves the problem.

the problem is the small amount of ram in your pc
menuet starts the app space at 16m

you can fix this by changing in kernel.asm line 337 (in my case)
if you dont find this sting at that line , try searching for:
"[0xfe84],dword 0x100000*"

mov [0xfe84],dword 0x100000*16

with

mov [0xfe84],dword 0x100000*10

now just compile the kernel and put an the floppy

i think MenuetOS should be designed with the above code, so old PC can run it.
