The fatal error message is JMP: illegal descriptor type 9

and vDosPlus terminates.

I'm using vDosPlus and cwsdpmi on Windows 64-bit.

This may the conflict between vDosPlus and cwsdpmi then - have you tried with a different DPMI server? HX DOS is a very good one that I personally use to run fasmd.

Yes, maybe there's a conflict. I've no idea how DOS works, in detail. Thanks for the link to HX DOS. DOS is interesting and amazing. It looks like I'll be using DOSBox. fasm/fasmd works fine there. This is a vDosPlus problem.

It's also very easy to setup a bootable USB with FreeDOS, assuming you still have an old-style BIOS (or at least UEFI with CSM, which won't exist in 2020!). See RUFUS. Thus, if you want the true DOS experience, you need to native boot! Wink
