Are free space supposed to go from down to up?
If it's possible to have a piece of memory at 0x100000-0x200000 and one at 0x100000000100000-0x100000000200000 I need to change my think of using RAM

There are no fixed rules for address allocation. Just do whatever makes sense to you.
