Do the FPU instructions have a default data type? Hopefully it is QWORD because that is what I use the most. I have to explicitly use TWORD when one of those are used, but can I just let the assembler assume QWORD otherwise?

If I define a variable with DQ or DT, does FASM use this information when that variable is accessed in an FPU instruction later on? Or is FASM "typeless" in the sense that variables don't have any type information that the assembler uses?

If you don't use the colon when defining labels then fasm will store and use the data type associated.

Code:

Label1 dq ? ;qword type is associated with Label1
Label2: dq ? ;No associated data type
