Tomasz has not made anything publicly available below v1.

I suggest if you need a version below that then PM Tomasz and ask.

Uh, I'm not sure you'd really want older versions as they were quite minimal (e.g. only raw binary output ??).

fasm10.zip 18-Jun-2000 01:00 61K

EDIT: Nope, it's DOS only ([old] flat real mode, FASM.COM is actually 32 kb but UPX'd to half that) and supports either flat binary (.com, .sys) or relocatable (mz / "old" .exe) but nothing else. Yeah, I know, Privalov probably has even older somewhere, and while I also appreciate historical software, I'm not sure what you hope to find. Wink

Englich( by Google translator ) :
I can not speak English, but I think you mean to ask,
why I want the old versions, right?
Well, the thing is, I would like to familiarize myself to the cause and understand
and also I like old things Smile

If you want to have a look at some of the fasm's roots, you should visit the thread where I mention the fasm's precedessor.

As for the fasm versions earlier than 1.0, I still have the original 0.90 or 1.00 from spring 1999 somewhere; if I find it, I may upload a copy here. Note that this is not the same as 0.9 which I announced one year later on freedos-dev. The original 0.90 and 1.00 ran in protected mode and generated executables in a special format for my private DOS extender, I later cut it down and made it run in FRM before I first released it publicly in 2000, calling it version 0.9 again.

Deutsch ( ... ) :

Bitte ...

Englich ( ... ) :
Hi Tomasz Grysztar, thank you, that they have answered me personally, it was fervently hoped

My englsich is very modest Sad I understand correctly that versions 0.90 and 1.00, not at the 0.9 versions. And 1.00 are, if so, then I understand now that is nothing more Sad
and if not, how they say it then?
could they please formulate it again in more detail? Please ...

Deutsch :
Hab mir grad dein link "I mention the fasm's precedessor" durchgelesen, verstehe ich das richtig das FASM auf ASM32 aufbaut und das ASM32 nur Data-Befehle verarbeiten konnte ?
Also folgendes hab ich jetzt ( hoffentlich ) verstanden :
- Sie haben ASM32 entwickelt
- mit ASM32 haben sie ein spiel entwickelt
- dan kam Windows mit einer neuen Version
- daraufhin haben sie das Spiel umgeschrieben
- ASM32 konnten sie aber nicht umschreiben ( warum auch immer ... )
- also haben sie ASM32 neu entwickelt und es "FlatAssembler" genannt
richtig ?

Englich :
I got your degree link "I mention the FASM's precedessor" read through, I understand this correctly, the FASM built on ASM32 and ASM32 only able to process the data commands?
So I'm following now (hopefully) understood:
- You have developed ASM32
- With ASM32 they have developed a game
- Dan Windows came with a new version
- They would then have rewritten the game
- ASM32 they could not describe but (for whatever reason ...)
- That they have developed new ASM32 and called FlatAssembler
right?

In chronological order:
  • ASM32 was my first assembler, with only simple binary output format
  • MDAT was special a variant of ASM32, with only data directives
  • fasm was my second assembler, I had private versions of it called 0.90 and 1.00
  • when I released fasm to the public, I started with number 0.9 again, but it was not the same as my earlier private 0.90

Unfortunately I have no copy of first public fasm 0.9 - if I had one, I would put in the official archive. But the public versions earlier than 1.0 were lost.

However I was able to find the earliest pre-public versions of fasm, and I make them available with HDOS, which is required to run them.

My old ASM32 is also lost, definitely. The only part of it that survived is MDAT, which you can find in that other thread.

@Tomasz: I can't believe I'm that old. Seeing that site http://fasm.sourceforge.net/archive/oldsite/ almost made me cry and sentimental and melancholic and stuff Razz
I saw FASM the first time when the site looked exactly like this. Was it really 2003? Unbelievable that FASM was so mature already then. Yet is has developed even further.
