I guess you were talking about the following song:

Zlad - I Am The Anti-Pope
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGBHfXPqbgI

I do not feel offended by its lyrics. What is more, I hope that more and more believers will be willing to free themselves from religious entanglement!

Fine recommendations shoorick, i'm already downloading Moonbooter's 'Elected Pieces (2004-2011)' free CD. Thank you.

Here is a personal favourite.

Vangelis - Apocalypse des animaux – Générique (L’Apocalypse des Animaux 1973)

@shoorick, checkout this interesting collection of links, leads to information on hundreds of albums of electronic music from 60's and 70's,
especially the fourth category 'Early Electronic some Synthpop'

Hey man, this is definitely not space music. It is more like disco music of the 1980s. Wink

I kind of disagree here, i think it fits just fine in this topic YONG, it doesn't need to be strictly ambient space music.
Apart from that, i feel that there is a heart of space deep in every Vangelis song.

Alright. Since you are a little bit older than me, I have to respect your opinion. Your recommendation does have a tiny bit of space music element. Wink

Oh! Space Music War! Cool
mmmm.....
for me the term "space music" means "wide range of music, which is associating with space for me"...
what is associating with space? for any of us it can be different things Wink
from real sounds of space to usual songs where space objects are just mentioned Wink some things should be common... what is space? a place where no (many) men around, a place where we meet something extremely unusual, a place with high concentration of advanced technology, robots and automats, a place of flights: they can be long and silent, or can be fast and active... etc... etc... thus it should be electronic, strange, not much of usual human voice... style? it even can be disco Wink like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdT5VhZbZT8
why not listen to it and imagine driving fast shuttle between rocks of unknown planet? Wink i do prefer vivid space music Smile but sure it's very personal Cool

I think it shouldn't be improper if I would recommend in the shoorick's thread something he most probably knows very well but, from the other hand, the rest of fasmen (the "men of fasm"; singular "fasman") may not have a chance to get to know about it.

We are talking here of the music created mostly in so-called "western" world. Why do we forget about all those music pieces composed a few decades ago in USSR? You may be truly amazed how good and universal pieces were made those times. I had a chance to listen to these music themes about 30 years ago when I lived near the Polish-Soviet northern border, so the TV program from Kaliningrad reached that area. Funny thing, I was a happy kid then because I could watch evening cartoons twice: at 5 pm (Russian ones) and at 7 pm (Polish cartoons). The same with New Year celebration (at 10 pm and 12 pm respectively). Razz Wink

So, here you have two wonderful and unforgettable music themes composed by Alexey Rybnikov:

thanks! yes, i do remember the first movie Rolling Eyes i watch it in the cinema, and it was very impressive to me that time... the second one i did not see, maybe i should...

*******

on the opposite side of the soviet/russian space music we can find some of those "pearls" Smile :

"Such men are not taking to the spacemen"
(Takih nie bierut v kosmonawtee)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-rAzLKGrmA

"Lunohod 1"
http://music.yandex.ru/#!/track/638086/album/68459
(use full link to open page, i cann't insert it better seems due to "#!")

I'm Lunohod-1 -- Ya - Lunohod Odin
Hello, Sky! -- Zdravstvuj Niebo!
I'm Lunohod-1 -- Ya - Lunohod Odin
Hello, Sun! -- Zdravstvuj Solntse!
I'm Lunohod-1 -- Ya - Lunohod Odin
Good bye, Earth! -- Do svidaniya, Zemlia!

mmm.... lyrics of these songs are quite funny Cool

***********

my best at the moment is this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7RG_IfwgSs
-- i have listen it already some tens of times last days, and it still does not annoy me Rolling Eyes

The problem is not in the link itself (you can encode special chars as sequences of the form '%XX', i.e. '#' would be '%23' and '!' would be '%21', so
http://music.yandex.ru/%23%21/track/638086/album/68459 should work perfectly) but I'm not permitted to listen to this song as a listener living outside of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, see the communicate attached below:
