Thats what I always thought, I think they should put more on there, or make the
wafer smaller. Also imagine if intel embeded the mother board and everything
on a chip the size of a current processor Cool

I didn't see all of the pictures but it looks like they are pictures of the carrier and ball mounting hardware. The IC is smaller and is the rectangular shapes on the top. I would imagine the silicon wafers are made to the maximal limit to reduce costs. The carriers are merely to interface to the mobos.

chips are square, but if it was hexagonal, il think there would be less waste, and also, if they use a single wafer to make differents chips, larges, small, tiny, etc, to fill all the space Smile
