No, I think it's time Tomasz disables any editing of posts older than 1 month or so.
It's at least the second time it happens in a few months. And dozens of threads get trashed every time.
Here's another example: http://board.flatassembler.net/search.php?search_author=kohlrak

Sure it's time, because they're kinda useless now anyway. But wouldn't this just be a temporary, last minute fix instead of a real solution to the trashed thread problem? ... until the next time. Last time such thing happened, it was just 6 months ago.

Some of these trashed threads (hundreds, BTW) held valuable information for both existing and future members, and this information is now lost. That could've been prevented by simply disabling post editing in certain conditions as I already said.

Besides, checking hundreds of threads to see which ones should be removed and which ones should just be cleaned of the corrupted posts would take hours.
I'm sure Tomasz and the moderators have better things to do with their time than doing garbage collection and fixing the havoc caused by some people's follies.
By doing what I suggested in the first place, you remove the problem at its root.

How about no more editing after someone has replied? And asking a mod for help to edit previous posts.

Many threads now do really suck Sad

??? You can't delete the timestamp.

From what archive ? This forum is banned from Google and the internet archive. Only Tomasz knows why Confused

OTOH Tomasz could restore the forum from a backup and ban the account, or change the password Idea
