Karel Gott was well known in Soviet Union for men of my parents age Smile for me his voice is very nice, i also remember he closes his eyes when sings Smile

when i was a boy - i do not remember Maya cartoons, but there were well known cartoons about Rex, Lolek a Bolek and, of course, about Krot (?) for me (us). it was only 3 tv channels here, and cartoons were very rare to show: by couple at satuday and sunday and one at the evening other days ("good night, kids!" program) maybe because of this and absance of computers we were more breathing fresh air and reading books more often Cool

His best video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-IxXblfXHs Laughing

Just for couriosity, when he was young, he was reportedly brought to police several times because he was masturbating in public places (tram etc.), and later he was blackmailed by state secret agency for this. :-]

PS: It is spelled "Krtek" in czech and slovak: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPNVWX0rYcI . I never knew our cartoons were so well known in east.

I'm glad to read it, thimis, because "Bolek i Lolek" is a Polish cartoon series (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolek_and_Lolek). First cartoon entitled "Kusza" ("Cross-bow") was made in 1963:I think that ballet can be encountered to the "Positive music video" category. Especially this clip, where dancer presents by her suggestive dance spring awakening of the Nature (maybe dancer even personifies Spring here):Enjoy! Smile

Yes, I know. This cartoon was very well known in many countries.

I never doubt about it. I wrote that this cartoon was made in Poland, because very often people don't know about Polish origin of many valuable things (art works, scientific discoveries etc.). Wink

"Day has gone - but you still alive!" Smile
[Dien' proshol - a ty vsio zhiv]
(you are the hero today, but tomorrow a new day will come, and you must fight again!)

Oleg Skripka - one of the best Ukrainian modern singers/musicians
