8. If you add an app it does not count on the 1.5kb but you will have a 10kb app limmit

You MAY
1.add extra programs like apps or games (these do not have a limit)

Maybe you are not realizing but these 2 rules still contradict each other. Remove #1

and change 1.5kb to 2kb because
Quote:

1. The OS must be between 512 bytes and 2 kilobytes
3. The finished OS may have no more than 5 files to run (boot loader, kernel, main OS, etc. )

implies that bootloader is part of OS

Because 12kb can be easily disassembled a different submission approach should be chosen. Before May 4th everybody who want to participate email you sha2 or whirlpool checksums of Zipped files of finished OS and after May 4th during 1 week everybody email you these files on which you verify checksums.
You are yourself post your hash in this thread before May4th.

No we already discussed the rules

It's been only 1 day, not everybody saw this thread.

The rules are as the contestants And I have put together.
I am not changing them just so I can enter.

Is it contest from Microsoft - you do what we need, in the way we need it. The difference is that no money is paid.

According to your 1st post you want sources before May 4th - before any development is finished and poll started - not good.

I only started it because competition pushes me to learn
You can certanly peek into sources but not until contest is over.

Asyou can see there are lot of problems with your original rules that need to be discussed and fixed.

I'd love that and short submission time.

If you submit Gone With The Windows we'll know that you didn't write it for this contest.
I'd be impressed if someone does submit Windows. Since they would have to meet the rules of including the full source code it would make a very interesting submission.

The more times you change the rules to more people will be inclined not to take them seriously.

So you guys decide between yourselves if you want size limit(min 2kb) or time limit or anything else. I need at least 2 month, min 3 people participating including the author of the thread.
