USBAUDIO new release
My original version that I uploaded on my "first day" here has been downloaded over 100 times now. Feedback either via this board or privately has been very sparse, so I don't know if that means it has always worked for everybody, or never worked for anybody Anyway, I've discovered that some USB speakers sometimes put themselves in the "stalled" USB state during enumeration, which means occasionally they stay stubbornly silent. This new release hopefully will overcome this problem. Readme etc. included. As always, feedback is very welcome (pl-e-e-e-e-s-e)

COOL.
But what do I need to test it ? An USB device including both a soundcard and the speaker ? I have none |

USBAUDIO sets up a USB 1.1 Host Controller/Driver under DOS.
It streams 16-bit stereo WAV data at 192kbps to USB speakers. This is higher quality than CD audio which has a data rate of 176kbps. It also works with "USB sound cards" which are USB devices the size of a USB pendrive, with 3.5mm audio sockets for speakers and microphone ($16 here in NZ). So you can't test it on SB sound cards _________________ FAMOS - the first memory operating system |
