Here is an interesting demonstration of the differences between using the CPU to perform graphics operations and a graphics processing unit (GPU), using robotic paintball guns for the demonstration, yeah!! Very Happy Enjoy!

Fyi - this demo was given at this year's NVIDIA 2008 conference.

Actually its not CPUvsGPU, but something mechanical. There's no actual computing going on in the background. Its preprogrammed and just shoots...

Its really nice though for an average person to see the rough working principles of Software vs Hardware shaders (were they vertex or pixel).
Impressive demo.

Yes, of course. They were simply trying to demonstrate the concept of GPU vs CPU. No actual graphics calculations going on there. I think the coolest part of the demo is the robotic paint ball cannons! Laughing When vid and I were in Las Vegas for Black Hat and DefCon, we watched a competition between robotic paint ball guns.

These two guys giving the demo host that show, Myth Busters

I wouldn't want to get shot with the "Monna Lisa" gun! Laughing
