with multiprocessors the keyboard controller will be connected to just
1 CPU. enabling bit 20 is via the keyboard controller.

presumably that means you only enable bit 20 with the BSP?

is A20 shared by all the CPUs?


perhaps with multiprocessors they enable bit 20 by default

one other curious thing is that with the original problem cr3
seems to have been accessing the correct memory without
A20 enabled.
