I did it with floppies without cracking them - you just have to open them and hold them tight.

I'm attaching the photo I've taken here in Kraków through the three old Verbatim floppies. Very Happy

Thank you for pointing out my imprecision. Smile
These were 3.5" double-sided HD floppies, the so-called 1.44 MB ones.

I've been using a 5.25" ones a dozen years ago; but as for the 8" - I have never even held one in my hand.

umm. well, not magic. no god's required. Astronomers have long known of, and in fact been able to predict, decades ahead of time, both solar and lunar eclipses. Here's an example of a
lunar eclipse saving Columbus, not by divine intervention but by hard work....

floppies? whats that? some kind of data storage device?
Yup. Thirty years ago, I used the 8 inch devices. They were truly floppy. These days I stick to the more modern 5.25, much firmer, and a lot more capacity than the old, big, slow disks. Yeah, it was difficult to give up those 78 rpm records, but, I finally switched: only 33.3 rpm for me these days....I'm not one of those guys who has to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 20th century.

to boot on of course, or make a filter to watch the direct sun light.
