sleepsleep: I'm not sure what you are trying to do here. You will never be able to eliminate the friction, you can only reduce it. At the top the potential energy for both A and B is the same, mgh. IF you had zero friction then both balls would gain the same kinetic energy equal to mgh, but since you WILL have friction (from the air and the contact points) then you have to take that into account to determine which ball will have more energy at the lowest point.

sleepsleep, if you will be (casually) looking for the curve of the fastest descent, you don't need to "reinvent the wheel". Wink The answer for such a problem was found at the end of the 17th century and is called brachistochrone (colored in red):

thanks mhajduk for the animation!! cool!! =)
how u made it?

ok, but i don't need to quickest time to reach "flying point"

i need to know if there path that could PRODUCE most momentum, and maybe exceed the potential energy contained by metal ball A or ball B.

This is an animated gif and is quite simple to draw but... it isn't mine, I took it from the Wikipedia's resources: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8d/Braquist%C3%B3crona.gif

I'm afraid it's impossible without inflow of the energy from the outside of the ball. Wink

i thought it draws based on real physic... (something like crayon physic games)

It is based on the laws of the physics. Smile

OK, see this movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=li-an5VUrIA Smile Or this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y05nIAGiIqw&NR=1

the movment of an electron around a nucleus is some pertpetual motion.

just a proof, atoms on the earth are all created since a very very far time.
they carry always, or more, energy than they receive.

the balance of the universe is a fact that there is more energy than nothing. this universe is based on energy.
and there were energy before the creation of universe.
and there will still be energ after universe.

maybe we, humans, cannot create energy from nothing because as computer, we are a layer under the god layer.
a computer cannot create something more than datas in his universe.
we cannot create more than datas in our universe.
...
but i am sure that energy is something like 1/0, leading to infinite.

and then, perpetual motion engine is a reality, because the mateer attract mateer, even when it is dead mateer., then, there is a constant force, over energy, that will always be there.
like magnets.
electrons are magnets with just one pole.
earth is a magnet with 2 poles
sun is a magnet with many poles
and there are more than just electromagnetic force.

the mass is a force too.

everything is a force, at its scale.

oh... love to know how they made it, is there a software like (mspaint) that could produce real physic animation =) wanna try....

and what if we add a "SPRING" .... so would the metal ball now exceed and jump above the point Z?

imo... since the universe keep on expanding, so nothing is turn into something everyday at the universe border..

i see earth gravity energy as if energy like wind, solar, etc
we just need to harness then use it for our own humankind benefits.

so, would the metal ball now able to go pass point Z? =P

It doesn't work that way. The current stuff is just getting further apart, not new stuff being made.

And I suggest you read up on the laws of thermodynamics and conservation of energy. Unless you can find a way to break those laws then any perpetual motion device candidate is doomed to failure. Your first task is to find a way to break the laws, and then you can easily make a PM machine.

Prize winning 1982 CNN report by science editor Kevin Sanders. Here top scientists and Nobel prize winners discuss the new breakthroughs they have made with engines powered by the elastic and memory properties of Nitenol in different temperatures.

They say that a wheel using its heat energy to be converted directly into kinetic energy had been running for months with over 2 million revolutions without loosing any speed and in fact gaining some eventually.

this one from youtube

Nickel titanium as a clean Energy Source [recently uncovered CNN footage, not originally aired]

awesome!!

I haven't seen the video, but it is really quite simple: If it can't be replicated by others (i.e. respectable people, not charlatans) then just ignore it.

"Demonstrations" like this are plentiful and boring. So far none have ever gone any further than a dubious video and grandiose claims.

In the famous words of Scotty: "Ya canny break the laws of physics."

We see the top, whirring away.
Cut to...We see the bottom, nothing, but hear the whirring.
Cut to...We see the top again, going its merry way.

rev, get the accent right. "Ye cannae" och mon.
(although it was a Canadian doing a Scottish accent.)
