What a remarkable piece of music, played beautifully, on an unusual instrument!

I played this at my place of work and two coworkers stopped while walking past, impressed and wanting to "know what that sound is!"

Thank you for the link!

The third song on the presented list sounds the most pleasing to me. The MV is really funny. Very nice recommendation. Wink

How many strings are there on that musical instrument? 13? Wow! Top-notch live performance! Wink

Yes, this instrument (a lute) has so-called bourdon strings that give specific low and drone sounds. Imagine how interesting may be a contemporary rock song performed on such uncommon instruments. Wink

Seems that the instrument has got 13 strings, indeed. There are also lute-like instruments (e.g. theorboes) that have got even more strings. Wink

All songs on the presented list are very good, each of them is quite original and distinguishable from others but I definitely prefer a few of them: "Daydream" by Tycho by its meditative character, "Pretender" by Sarah Jaffe and Devics' "The Man I Love" for their vanguard lyrics and artistic interpretation (that refers to bygone music decades yet is still original and fresh). Moreover, Sarah Jaffe voice resembles a bit that of Sinead O'Connor in my opinion. "Open Up" by Taj Jackson is light and pleasant to listen to yet the lyrics are quite meaningful. The last music piece on the list, "Escape" by Craig Armstrong is a truly powerful and impressive composition, a perfect mix of classical choral music with contemporary rhythms. Smile
