Both the song and its MV are fresh and unique. Very nice recommendation. Wink

Sand by Nathan Lanier

Very powerful, emotional, enjoyable! However, I don't hear, feel, or see any connection to Sand. Maybe there is a video in connection with the song that would make the connection.
There are some rustling sounds, especially in the short fragment starting at 1:47, that may somehow explain the composition title. Similar sounds are produced by brushes hitting a (snare) drum: Workin' Them Brushes - Drum LessonWink

The last three songs of the presented set are the best ones in my opinion. To be more precise, I especially has been moved by the warm and charming voice of Takako Matsu that evokes positive resonance in my mind. Wink The last song of the aforementioned four is also worth to mention because of uncommon, hypnotizing rhythm and low vocals. Wink

The priest says in Russian these words that explain the whole story presented in the clip: "Today we will tell the story of a man who drowned in cold waters of an ocean after that he had lost someone beloved. This is a story of the man who died twice."

Well, this is simply an outstanding MV. The emotions that it transmits to the listener's mind are highly condensed and intensive. Excellent music recommendation. Smile

The heavenly voice of the songstress and beautiful faces in the MV what else you can need to feel delighted? Nothing, everything is there. Absolute perfection and pure beauty, that's what I'd like to say about this song. Wink

The second song on your list reminds me of the following classic (recommended by a wise forum member in this thread a long long time ago):

Joan Baez - Diamonds and Rust

"Diamonds and Rust" is one of the most touching songs by Joan Baez and should be classified as having one of the most meaningful texts ever. Smile

I have heard of this intriguing musician for the first time. His style is hardly classifiable what shouldn't surprise us though, he just creates the music reflecting this specific multicultural environment in which he was raised and all those various artistic influences he was exposed to. Somehow the effect of his creations reminds me of the songs by "The Pierces". The same climate and style of arrangement strictly referring to the late 60's and early 70's.

I like especially the first position on the list that has got truly striking lyrics that metaphorically "slaps listener in face". The words seem to be simple and easy but the juxtaposition of those almost trivial verses (if considered separately) makes deeply moving effect that you may find in the medieval Persian poetry, I mean here especially poems by Jami that reflect the spirit of Sufism. The Persian name of the artist may be the key to understand origins of all those intellectual inspirations. Wink

Very nice MV -- the songstress looks great in a wedding dress! Soothing melody as well. Wink
