A new album from a&b, the group performed some of their best-loved trance songs acoustically with a 12-piece band.

Above & Beyond - Acoustic (Full Concert Film Live from Porchester Hall)

The first few minutes of the concert really catches my attention -- the angelic voice of the lead songstress plus the intriguing background theme equals perfection! Top-notch recommendation, bro! Wink

Here is a random track for my music friends:

劉亦菲 (Crystal Liu Yi Fei) -- 放下 (Let Go)

Here is the original version of the aforementioned song:

胡夏 -- 放下

I would be in a trouble if somebody asked me to pick the best version of the song. Each of them is different, each has other features that make them unique. In the first version I like the instrumental arrangement and the mild voice of the songstress whereas in the second track the most important is the deeply moving voice of the singer. As I've said above, both versions are excellent. Smile

I've never heard this song before. The lyrics of this music piece is truly heart-touching and thought-provoking. It's interesting to learn that Elvis also sang such socially engaged ballads. Smile

The singing style of the songstress is quite similar to that of Josh Groban:

Instrumental backing of this dance hit reminds me of some songs from Central Asia, definitely it isn't common for Chinese songs recommended by you before. The aforementioned song brings me associations with this music piece:Wink

The melody of this track is quite pleasant to listen to but the lyrics... hmm... are slightly crazy. Rolling Eyes Wink

Today I'd like to recommend something that may be interesting to those who like to dispute on philosophical themes as the song refers to the idea of reincarnation and karma. Wink

Despite of the fact that I am used to avoiding such discussions I like the song presented below both for the melodic background and intriguing lyrics. Fortunately, I'm not the only one European that likes the song performed originally by Ros Sereysotheawhat gives me some hope that my hearing is correct so far.

Here you have an instrumental version by a Swedish band:And here you have a contemporary version by a Cambodian songstress:The English translation of the lyrics (courtesy of MocaCocaCola):
Quote:
I look to the sky, the sky's so far.
I look to the sun, the sun is as far.
Water's waves crash & swirl.
I reminisce, I feel a sadness; A sadness that makes my heart burst.
I remember the hand you used to hold. I'll miss you.
Our love has melted away.
We will part; I'll miss you. Don't miss me baby.
All right my baby, my pretty baby. Karma is forcing us to part.
This life & the next, my baby. I'll wish for you.
Hopefully, I'll get what I wished for: That I'll meet you in every life after this.
Wink

I think that the overall joyful character and some nice customs associated with celebrations of Chinese New Year are so great that I would gladly see them somehow "transplanted" onto our European ground. Celebrations of New Year here, in Europe, are too gloomy, I can't notice any real joy, everything is like covered with ashes...

Anyway, here you have a song I have found today and I really like it despite of the fact I understand no word of the lyrics:Wink

The entire album is truly calming and relaxing but I especially prefer the music pieces starting at 07:01, 17:48, 35:52, 50:33 and 1:05:57. Smile
