Yesterday, listening to the radio, I discovered for myself music works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, an English composer. I think you may like it too, as these compositions have got an improbable load of emotions inside:
  1. ImageImageImage Ralph Vaughan Williams - The Lark Ascending
  2. ImageImageImage Ralph Vaughan Williams - Symphony No. 1, "A Sea Symphony": Song for all Seas, all Ships
Wink
Both are sensational compositions. I slightly prefer the first as it gives me (strange) feelings of Chinese classical music. Very good recommendations! Wink
Hehe, I have the same impression whenever I listen to this music piece. I even can imagine how simple and straightforward could be an erhu rendition of the composition since the violin has got amazingly similar sounding here. Wink

I'd say that the first and the second music pieces of the presented foursome are the best to me. In the second track we can hear an extensive use of drone (bourdon) effect that gives an impression of infinite reflections and image repetitions within the mirrors, interesting indeed. The fourth one is also quite original and listenable although I have to admit that my cat started to bite me in my right foot when I was listening to it on my computer speakers. Razz Seems that cats sleep well when there classical music is aired while show their disrespect and irritation when they hear something more uncommon. Wink

I like their style, practically all of those songs are pleasant to listen. Among all of them I found two that are especially catchy to me, I mean "Something there" and "Castles in the air" (both in the second part of the concerto). What can I say... it was a superb recommendation, sleepsleep. Smile

Theorbo was a Baroque instrument that had drone strings (bourdons) allowing a simple bass accompaniment to the melody played on the other strings. Ukrainian Bandura is a type of lute used till today. A combination of both instruments called teorban was invented in Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth in 18th century. Smile

Both are lovely music pieces. While the 2nd sounds more sophisticated, I prefer the 1st one because of its folk song-like elements. Nice recommendations. Wink
