I like the first one, which is raw, melodious, and definitely my type. Very nice recommendation. Wink

I really enjoy listening to songs from this thread, and feel that it's been a while since I posted something so here comes the latest from Sweden:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVVhzyQCs9k

This is a really pretty and emotional song about "me and my dad" as it's called. The lyrics doesn't seem to be translated - which is a real shame. I think it could be as big international as it's been locally here if translated properly.

I'll give it a try and translate the last part for you:

Over there by the willow (Därborta vid pilen)
Have I put my father (Har jag lagt min far)
An anonymous urn is all that's left (En anonym urna är allt som finns kvar)
But i never found the courage (Fast jag fann aldrig modet)
To say goodbye (Till att säga adjö)
Never really thought that you could die (Trodde nog aldrig att du kunde dö)

The circle will be closed (Cirkeln ska slutas)
(That) I have left (Det har jag kvar)
We shall unite (Vi ska enas)
In the earth (I Jorden)
Me - and my father (Jag - Och min far)

Most likely I haven't heard this song before - it's completely new to me despite of the fact it was recorded in 80's. Wink Very nice tune, indeed. Smile

Among all these excellent music pieces I find the three especially appealing to me: the 2nd, 3rd and the 5th which is my absolute favorite today. Smile Seems that I've never heard this sublime, elegy-like Demis Roussos song before. Definitely it's the best of your recent recommendations! Smile

Yes, I agree completely that this great song referring to some essential life matters such as succession of generations, transmission of all those components that create this complex structure we call "tradition" and "culture" (and with all of those wise words neatly "dressed" with beautiful music) deserves more attention outside Sweden. Superb thing, indeed. Smile

I like both songs a lot due to the characteristic Demis Roussos singing manner that hits straightly the darkest corner of the heart. Wink I knew this singer from the times when he was most popular and looked a bit different than in these videos. Well, I think now I prefer his early creations even more. Smile

I hope that the lyrics of the second song don't contain any harmful things (Google translator doesn't give me complete sense of it unfortunately). Wink
