I think I prefer the first song of the presented two. The tracks are sung in the manner characteristic for the 60's and 70's: the strong and emotional voices are exposed on the simple instrumental background creating a fresh and sentimental melodic line. Smile

Referring to the theme of mimicking the style of the golden era of big beat I'd like to present here something truly good. If you hadn't known that these songs were made in the last two years, you most probably would believe that they are some archival recordings of well-known Polish classics. Well, if you listen to such tracks you have a feeling that 60's have been "resurrected" just right before your eyes, it's a literally mystic thing...

Thinking of the sentence above you've just read please bear in mind following significant fact: the young Polish songstress performing these songs, Ania Rusowicz, is a greatly gifted daughter of Ada Rusowicz, a famous Polish songstress who reached peak of her popularity in 60's and 70's. For the generation of my parents music debut of such an artist as Ania Rusowicz is something great, like a travelling back in time, a wonderful group déjà vu. Wink

Here you have mentioned songs:Smile

Both MVs sound old-fashioned, yet the songs are pretty fresh. The vocals are strongly passionate, too. Wink

The set of your recent recommendations joined together by the same moderate character of the melodic lines may be compared to a wonderful necklace made of 9 colorful sparkling gems. Of course, each of them is an individual music creation but we can feel something common that lies behind this apparent diversity. Smile

I like the 1st, 5th, 7th, 8th and 9th ones with particular emphasis on the last two. The Fever Ray's song is weird but this makes it even more interesting: all those clattering sounds of bones striking another objects bring me images of a mysterious shamanistic dance or something like that. The 9th song was presented here a few months ago but it definitely has been worth reminding. Wink

I like the song linked below not only due to catchy choruses, original songstress' vocal but also due to some visual features of the video, I mean here especially an impressive waving dance of the female violinist somewhere in the middle of the clip. Razz Wink

It seems that one of the forum members has a really big appetite -- and consumed all of my NINE recommendations in no time. Running out of options, I had to re-initiate my random track selector once again:

Sophie Zelmani - Love

Enjoy! Wink
