Here is a soul-stirring music piece that is utterly appealing to middle-aged men like me:

From the music point of view I like especially these songs:

Here is a Cantonese cover of a Japanese classic for my music friends:

蔡立兒 - 絕戀

Here is a cover of Taiwanese classic:

周明璟 - 認錯
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27bRAmQYQbU

Here is another Cantonese classic:

小虎隊 - 伴我啟航
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bH2UUtbrlmA

Here is a cover, by a Japanese songstress, of a genuine classic:

Those were the days by Satoko Ishimine

The first three seem to represent similar sentimental mood. Smile The last two evoke slightly different emotions, a bit more positive and bright. Wink

Yeah, that's a pleasant tune. I've found this song quite up-lifting and positive. Wink

Here you have three songs from various places of this world (Tibet, Uzbekistan and Rwanda) that have something in common: they make my soul "rotating" like a spindle in a spinning wheel due to their mantra-like ("mantroid"), strongly hypnotic character. Razz Every time I listen to any of them I feel relaxed and somewhat joyful. WinkEnjoy! Very Happy

Nice recommendations. I especially like the third one. I guess I might have listened to songs by that male singer before, probably recommended by a wise man. Wink

Here is a touching live performance by a distinguished Japanese songstress:

Yep, I recommended song "You" by Patrick Kitoko about three months ago... but, well, I wouldn't describe myself with the epithet "wise man". Wink If I were a wise man, I would perfectly know how to live in my own way (preserving some own strict rules, of course) and, in the same time, how to act smartly not hurting others' feelings... Both the melody and the voice of the songstress are perfect, I like this ballad a lot. Smile

At first I thought that this is another emotional and calm song but a noticeable passion in the singer's voice plus a fiery accompaniment make it something absolutely unique. Wink

Strange, I have never heard this song before... this is truly good, mainly because of the characteristic voices of the singers and the light rhythm. Smile

It is the arrangement that made it world famous, quite interesting is that the original Tanha Shodam song composed by the Afghan musician and singer Ahmad Zahir, for his 1971 album Lylee. I learn that from tube comments Smile

Sometimes it's quite interesting to see and listen to how people of non-Chinese descent sing songs in Mandarin. Wink Of course, I mean here those people who can speak Mandarin fluently thanks to a lucky quirk of fate and they had a chance to learn this language in their childhood or teen ages as it is in case of Mohan and Xiao Qiao, singers of the clear Indian descent. Smile

Here you have two enchanting Chinese folk songs I've found recently, each in two versions (one is performed by Xiao Qiao, another by Mohan):And the second song:Enjoy! Very Happy
