I play fretless bass (I'm not a good bassist though Smile - It's not easy to follow an aim like "practice at least 3 hours a day", but one day I'll start doing it more seriously)

Jaco Pastorius is a big of music..
Weather Report was my favourite band of 80'....

Always remember that art is creativity ', the technique is beautiful, but if you have nothing to say is useless. Wink

Right, by practicing i mean transcribing others songs, bass lines, solos which i found as the best way to improve my musicianship. Before that just 30 minutes pure technical exercises in 30 - 40 BPM as warm up.

Very catchy, indeed.

The singer's vocal is a bit like Micheal Buble's, and his dancing is quite similar to that of the late MJ. Excellent song choice.

I see you guys prefer peaceful and tranquil music. Well I hope that this won't scare you off Wink

My friends band "Fifty Foot Woman" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDNxdPxFvjo
Stoner rock, inspired by bands like Kyuss, Orange Goblin etc.
Unfortunately they split, as far as I know due to lack of drummer.
Enjoy!

By the way, I do love songs by rock bands - in some occasions.

The following song is an excellent example:

Simple Plan - Untitled

Sweet and sentimental track.

BTW, what a coincidence! I know the video accompanying to latter song very well. There, in YT, exists a version of the Malay hit "Rela" with the same clip:And a slightly "harder" and newer rock version of it:It's my favorite Malay song of all times, I can listen to it almost constantly. Wink

As I said some time ago, I'm a "musical omnivore", so I like to listen to everything what catches me. The music genre I listen to in the particular moment of time depends on the effect I want to achieve. Wink

I've found this song interesting. Those guys played very well in my opinion. I hear there professionalism and truth in the whole composition - seems that's the most important. Smile

BTW, do you know Krzysiek Zalewski personally? For those who don't know - he is a Polish rock singer and guitarist, winner of the 2003 Polish Idol.

Oh, not personally. Actually i don't think he lives in Lublin any more, it's nearly impossible to make on living with music in Lublin. Don't know where you live in Poland, but believe me our region is real economical class C (but I still love it Smile )

I know this region - my mother lived in Lublin for 20 years and studied there (AR). Smile

Yeah, I know that it may be hard to make living from music there but anyway Lublin is a place of birth of the best Polish artists. Wink

The instrumental backing in the first version sounds fantastic to me! Razz

I am a bit surprised to learn that such a sentimental music piece appears in your collection of favorite Malay songs. Perhaps deep down in your heart, you love sentimental music pieces. Wink
