Here you have a song called Jivaeri (my treasure) (τζιβαέρι < turkish cevahir), it's one of the most famous Greek immigration song of all time, some 100 years old which has been sung countless times.

Katerina Anifanatki - Jivaeri

Areti Ketime - Jivaeri

Yanni feat. Michelle Amato – Jivaeri

The third, i.e. Yanni's, version of this traditional song seems to be the "smoothest" one and easiest to accept for a foreign listener. Common folk melodies may become worldwide accepted and understandable when are "filtered" by the mind of musical genius. Smile

Another example of Polish music: famous (in Poland) actor Piotr Polk has decided to record an album with moody and reflective songs, this is a one of them:
Soothing and relaxing. The little bit of piano accompaniment lights up the entire song. Excellent song choice! Razz

These songs bring me memories of the "old good days". Wink I prefer the second track, seems to have more professional arrangement and more sophisticated melodic line. Smile

Today I'd like to recommend something from 80's, two Polish oldies by Izabela Trojanowska:Enjoy! Smile

Both melodies are fine; I especially like the deep low voice of the songstress. But both MVs seem a bit odd to me. Wink

Really beautiful songs but a bit too sad to me. Wink I like the first of your recommendations (I'm talking about the voice of the singer and mellow instrumental background). Smile
