Live performance of a classical music piece in a hilarious and moving way!
Yeah, heart moving performance and simply feast for the senses (mainly for the hearing). Wink

I wish I could speak a little Mandarin Chinese... Wink

This song seems to be the one of the Chinese classics, its title refers to the novel "Dream of the Red Chamber (A Dream of Red Mansions)". I like this music piece since I heard it for the first time:Enjoy! Very Happy

BTW, it's 2000th reply (but 2001st post Wink) in this thread. Image

Agree, Laura performs it with a bigger emotional engagement - seems that she perfectly understands what she is singing about and adds some extra power to it. Smile Every word is illustrated by the corresponding gestures and countenances which almost "materialize" all emotions and make them not only visible but also touchable. Wink

The title of my latest recommendation says everything:

Meiko - The Saddest Song In The World

To me, the trumpet sounds utterly touching.

The song presented below, performed by the Polish pop band Goya, sounds like a modern remix of a some classic composition (I mean here mainly these parts exposing the strings section).

I'm glad you like it, "Goya" has many interesting songs and, what is most important, their style is getting better and more refined over time. Smile

BTW, I see the word "pulchritudinous" for the first time but the main meaning of it is easily understandable to me even without dictionary. Evidently this word is derived from Latin: I remember such phrase from the first chapters of the Latin textbook: "puella pulchra" what means "beautiful (pulchra) young woman (puella)". Wink

Here you have an interesting comparison: two songs from the distant places (over 5000 km), sung by the people from the different cultures in two unrelated languages (Polish and Uzbek) send us the same strong and clear message; both songs refer to the faith in reincarnation and eternal love not limited to the particular existence. These touching compositions are somehow complementary and, in some musical aspects, very similar. Listen and compare:Wink

You're right. While I do not understand the languages, I feel the two songs are similar "beat-wise" and "mood-wise". Razz Haha ... this is like a Comparative Literature lesson in music! Wink
