Most of us on FASM forum are males. Here is something to worry about, DECADES from now, for most of us (not including author of this thread!)
http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/conditions/03/19/prostate.cancer.ap/index.html
The main point of this article is that prostate cancer, while RELATIVELY less aggressive than many other cancers, is still a killer, and still steals lives from people, before their time. The therapies available all cause unfavorable side effects. The article reviews which of many different unfavorable side effects, one should select.
With regard to surgery, let me say, in my own previous employment experience, that the more radical surgery, while successful, leads to some serious side effects.
When one is twenty, this issue is either meaningless, or absurd. When one is forty, the issue seems FAR away. Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, one is sixty, and the issue is front and center. The key here, is to think and plan ahead.... not that different, really, from designing a program!!!!

The non-malignant enlargement of the prostate occurs in almost all males, starting about age 40. Symptoms appear as a result of this enlargement, in about half of the population by age 60. So, most FASM forumers have several decades to go, before any problem appears...

no, the prostate is a gland located in the pelvis, below the bladder. It is responsible for secreting the seminal fluid that comprises most of the ejaculate.

Are there any techniques or diet to limit plaque build-up or enlargement later in life?

the prostate is a valve, it acts like a switch. piss or sperm.

note the drawing have a little dick Wink
it is a problem of tubes and fluids.

a good diet is to don't care about the prostate cancer, and eat only good food. drink a lot of good drinks, no soda, because soda is acid, and full of shit.

the tea is a good diet.

I use finasteride for hair loss. It's the same drug for both diseases. But for prostate it's 5mg. I use 1mg. So, I'm more or less preventing it too. Wink
