is there a manual for each process to show how many clock cycles they use !


For Intel 4 -- I can only able to find some tips and trick - but not what i wanted

Read carefully though - modern processors are so complicated that just a number is not enough and sometimes you need to take into account the alignment, previous instructions and data (i.e. divisions).

It should be rather well explained, but it might take some while...

true

other things that this depends on are: the next instruction, cache and TLB miss/hit (if operand is memory), size of the instruction, is the code accessed randomly or in a predictable way?
