How to get the snap shot of the desktop?
As in many screen savers ... how do they get the snap shot of
desktop and play various graphics effects using that image?

I mean I am looking for any API function(s) to do it on Windows (if it's
not clear enough from the location of this thread).

PS: Please change the extension from .asm to .cpp!
