Importing by ordinal?

Sorry if this is a simple question but I can't seem to import a function by ordinal. The document ion gives an example:

  import custom,\
         ByName,'FunctionName',\
         ByOrdinal,17

I've tried using that but it doesn't work as expected, it still imports via the name and not the ordinal. I've tried skipping the "ByName" part but then my app won't compile. Is there something I'm missing?

i think it means to import normally but if you want to import by by ordinal simply replace the string name with the functions ordinal value.
