just for fun of and how many need it to get their work done.
Any other reasons for coming here?

Assembler is my favourite programming language now (both for fun and for work). I program in other languages only if I have to. Very Happy

I think, I can't name myself "professional programmer", because only others can do that looking at my programs. Wink Because of that I can't vote. Laughing

Yes, I am a very very experienced professional programmer and yes I do need to know ASM for my work Very Happy

And yes I am old Very Happy
And NO, I am not proud to be a pro.

I would love and in fact I can also answer 2)

But you are asking the wrong line of questions.

If you want to make a job from modern ASM ... then your places of work are kind of limited. It is much easyer to find a job in C / C++ / C# or Java or DBMS.

Nevertheless, in ASM your competition is small and then "need for you" is high.

1 and 2 basically.

Essentially I love ASM as hobbywise but it turned out my professional work needed some of it too every now and then (not explicitly but it was a lot easier / stable to do in FASM).

I'm hobby programmer, and like ASM for writting small utilities for my own personal use.
I program in other languages as hobby too. In fact, my bigger hobby is learning new languages.

I want to become professional programmer soon, that's why I'm studying computer science at the university.

2nd option, with the competition as good as Tomasz Grysztar, vid, bogdanontanu, and limited jobs for ASM programmers.
I work in a machine shop instead.

Dex4u, good competitors no doubt, but, do you realize that them live in different countries and that no one of them will "rob" you a job in England?

Also you are a skilled assembly programmer anyway so you shouldn't be so discouraged!
