You mean, how to get its value? From what I read in the manuals, it is not possible.

You don't have control over changing its inital value?

no, i am creating VMX virtual machine, that will just copy it's parent's environment (from Win32 driver). One of fields to set for VM is SMBASE, so i would like to know how/if it's possible to find it's current value.

I believe (hope) windows doesn't use SMM, but i wanted to include it for completness.
