Hi all,

Actually I just realised that I made a mistake and left out quite a number of stuffs for the adding of users. So it is not really complete. Trying my best to fix it now.

Victor

ok victor i have added some more code to resize the message window
all the controls are resized perfectly Razz but it u play with it u will see that the buttons need to be repainted and i could not find out how to do that ( i have tried update windows or redrawwindow or sendinw wm_paint )

i also wanted to scrool down the upper edit after resize but it did not work pls look at the code ( i have made changes in the code and in the res )

ps : i have choosen the second resize method that i mentioned in my older posts

and i think the bottom edit where we type our text should be smaller i think ( like half ) people please give comments on that

and i should add some sizing limits to prevent controls from disappearing

but first please try it and give comments

after these i will continue on resizing other dialogs

have a nice faim

important:victor we should start giving version numbers i have made these additions to the file in your web page roticv.rantx becouse all the time i get messed up with old versions

ps:i have seen that u have given some dialog items same id's from other dialogs is it ok ( for exp the last ones ? it seems ok to me afaik but i wanted to ask Smile

a screenshot of a bug Smile
and the latest one from me

Hi all, Sorry was busy, thus did not address the following issues. (I am somewhat pissed because fasm crashed on me when saving, resulting in loss of the codes in my faim.asm which is more than 40kb in size. Had to savage them from the dumps etc etc)

Hi Roy,

Regarding the wrong nicks I would try my best to look into it. The function "Extract_contact" is giving me headache, but I will still try my best to solve it. It would be helpful if you can give me a network dump or at least a dump of that packet, though I know it would be difficult, because I think you would not know which packet I am referring to. Also I will try to support chinese characters asap.

Hi Pinky,

That's a gpf. It would be helpful if you could set a jit debugger so that more useful data can be extracted. I think this issue might be related the one Roy is encountering.

Anyway I would to thank you guys for helping me test out the faim.

Hi all,

I tried my best to fix Deleteusers and addusers features and it works for me. But I need report from you guys to see whether it works for you. Also help me check whether the nicks in your contact list is properly sorted...

Yunus,

I have traced your dump manually for F0h bytes and it looks alright to me, not sure why it crashes...

Roy,

I have not figured out the correct flags to the listview so that it does not show the horizontal scrollbar. I think it looks horrible, but till I find out what is wrong, I guess we just have to bear with it.

When I add one user, it works OK. When I try to add the second one, FAIM crashes (using Win98).

To Victor:
I found what's wrong with the wrong nicks!
It is because they use UTF-8 to encode the nicks.

Hi roticv,
I have downloaded latest version of FAIM. I have tried to compile FAIM sources with Flat Assembler v1.52. Compilation process is completed successfuly but generated executable crashes everytime in my computer(s) (at work: win2k sp4, at home: winxp sp2rc2). Are you using another version of FAsm (or different include/macro files) for compiling FAIM sources ?
Note: Your pre-compiled (zipped) executable runs without any problem...
2nd note: I will report you a little bug... When my status is off-line, I couldn't run "Web Site" menu item... it crashes FAIM... When my status is on-line "Web Site" menu item opens a "Send Message" dialog ?!
I am sorry for my English, I am not a native speaker... Sad

Hi Quant,

I used Fasm v1.52 using the standard include and marco. I have seriously no idea why your newly generated exe crash. Perhaps some dumps?

Also I have fixed the "bug". Clearly it was an oversight on my part. Also I understand that you are not a native English speaker, no need to be so apologetic about your English.

Hi sniper,

I am glad you like faim. There are some hotkeys available. For example in the message dialogbox, when you press alt+s the message would be sent. If you press alt+c, the dialog would be closed. Regarding the minimise button, when you click on the cross, faim would be minimised to the tray.

Of course if these features are not sufficient, feel free to request for other features that you think should be in faim. I would add to my todo list and work on them when I have the time.

Regards,
Victor
