Hi all,

just started playing with FASM. Very impressed. However I have a small question - what does "assign to compiler" option do on the right click menu for tabs of open asm sources? Searched google, this board & FASM docs but couldn't find the answer. Just curious.

Many thanks.

I don't have any such option. Maybe it comes from different application than FASM.

Does it do anything?

Hi

If you have multiple files open in FasmW, it "locks" the file you assign to be compiled when you select Run-Compile ( normal behaviour is to compile the file your currently editing in the tabs ).

I find it very useful since all but my simplest programs are multiple file projects.

Cheers

Dave

oh... didn't know about that.

Is it possible to build "project" of some kind that locks multiple files automatically?

Hi vid

If I have understood you correctly, no it is not. To "lock" the currently selected file which will be compiled is a manual operation each time you start FasmW. The usual procedure for me with multi file asm projects is to open the files im working on, assign the "top level" file to the compiler, and edit away.

Might be nice if at some future point FasmW did support projects in some manner?

Cheers

Dave

well, tomasz did document his FASMW core, so it's on us.

But maybe there are existing tools, i never had time to play with RadAsm or others...
