Last night i saw Another Earth (2011) IMDB a science fantasy/drama film directed by Mike Cahill.
It's a very enjoyable & emotional film if one can ignore science and simply enjoy the fiction part. No aliens simple and beautiful cinematography focusing on two people's drama.

Plot: On the night of the discovery of a duplicate planet in the solar system, an ambitious young student and an accomplished composer cross paths in a tragic accident.

@Picnic: Another Earth is brilliant. Thanks for reminding me.

And I forget who mentioned "The Andromeda Strain" and "Chinatown", but they're two of my favourite films of all time.

There's tons of good taste on this forum!

YONG I intend to see the US version probably this weekend.

tripledot you're welcome.

Sanctum (2011), an underground cave network thriller. It's a visually impressive film i enjoyed, despite the justified bad criticism about flat script and one-dimensional characters.

I saw NightWatch (Ночной дозор 2004) A fantasy-thriller set in Moscow about the struggle between light and darkness.
I was not impressed, it seemed a bit boring and probably i will not seek the second part (Daywatch).

Alternatively i suggest the movie Ink (2009)
