For those intersted in hypervisors and security privilege escalation, here's an interesting article about the XBOX 360 hypervisor being cracked. Microsoft XBOX uses the hypervisor to provide backward compatibility for legacy (1st generation) XBOX and other older console games.
Btw, this has implications beyond game consoles. Wink

And now the PS3 (in Europe?) is being sold with software for backwards compatibility w/ PS2 (instead of the original, more expensive way of including a separate chip). Doh! I can't help but feel that many people will buy one anyways without knowing better and get mad once they realize it. (Granted, $600 is a lot of money, but still, backwards compatibility is nice.)
