I needed to buy another board soon anyway !

how much KB does it need in flash memory ?

the board looks OK and is 100 Euro roughly.

too bad it hasn't got a TOPHAT flash-socket like elitegroup (after bad flash just flip spare chip on top of it one time and take it off while powered on). 4 MBit flash

Supports Xpress BIOS Rescue, whatever that is. (protected area ?
shadow flash ?)
bios can be downloaded from internet & flashed , from within BIOS already (TFTP or sth)

a minimal linux is 300 KBytes. maybe menuet does it at 100 ?

only thing is, since menuet relies on legacy bios, one would have to write some ersatz BIOS routines on top of linuxbios. Rolling Eyes

Or patch up Menuet so it doesn't need the BIOS. This I think is the more sensible path.

IIRC Only for booting(eg. the M32 blue screen) and vesa bankswitching.
