I think it's pretty fair - a one-hour grace period (probably on each boot?) is nicer than the 100% shutoff that most apps give when their license period expires.

XP64 prices might drop soonish now that Vista is out? Smile

Well, I'm replying from the XP64 and that message box has not appeared by now (and yes, I didn't change the RTC nor cracked Windows).

So you're using XP 64-bit? The Vista RCs supposedly last for a year. Of course, if you're Linux-savvy, you may as well find/use an appropriate distro (gNewSense, perhaps?).

I use, XP32, XP64 and Linux64 (Debian). I'm still using Windows so often because I haven't finished yet a program for a neighbour which runs a Win98 but when finished I will fix all the mess I did with my Linux installation and start using it again.

OEM Windows XP Pro X64 is about $140 and Vista Home Premium x64 is $125. That's more than a lot of people want to pay but it's still not bad.

I think I'm going to check into the viability of dual booting like it seems that some of you are.
