I have a problem runnint Fasm 1.49 for dos in my MS-DOS 6.22 virtual machine, fasm crashes it. but with earlier versions of fasm there was no problem? do you have any idea what this could be?

What kind of virtual machine? Maybe it doesn't support unreal mode?

Have you tried running DOS in V86 mode with DPMI and then fasm within it?

Yes it works but will this provide all functionality of the older msdos's. sometimes code doesn't work so well with the winxp dos console?
