Hi Tomasz !

Could you please find some time to tell us (at least Me) about yourself ?
I am amazed (to say the least) by your love and dedication for assembly.

Could you please tell me:
1) How old you are ?
2) Do you work at some company or retired ?
3) How come you enjoy Assembly so much ?
4) I heard that you are writing an OS. Where can I find it ?
x) May be a picture of yours ...

Thanks for your time (if you answer ...).

When the level of the thread becomes much too HIGH, reading becomes harder and harder for all of us,... except for THE MODERATORS, obviously,... Because they know absolutely everything about assembler problems and tricks.

I am not able to use FLUENTLY the """macro""" option that can be activated and used while assembling... I heard stuff about "FULL READING" and other CONCEPTS, but no way to use this option """fluently"""... F45M:What about about you ??

This is not just a virgin birth, following migration of sperm into vaginal orifice from the external genitalia, no. This is parthenogenesis. I don't find the link to the komodo dragon to be particularly less off topic than the following link on the Polish magician:

F45M - you can watch Tomasz's presentation at this year's fasm technical discussion at: http://www.hypervista-technologies.com

You will also see some other fasm luminaries such as MazeGen and vid there.

Enjoy.

Grrrrrr.... Sad Sad Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

I could live without seeing Tomasz at all ... seeing FASM working is good
enough for me Wink

BUT: If someone uploads a video to the Internet, I'd like to see
an easily downloadable movie in OGG format ... and
NOT a "mms"/wmv crap viewable exclusively with
latest M$ WMP 12 or 13 or what I "need" to see the video... Sad Sad

The most information about him I ever found (having never watched the presentations) was from the following thread in Heap: who is tomasz?

NTOSKERNL_VXE - did you try "click here to open Tomasz's/MazeGen's/vid's presentation in your favorite player"?? It should work with most viewers (but haven't tested with all).

Sorry for the selection of default WMP .. I had to pick one "standard" and that's the one I'm most familiar with. I'm assuming from your nick that you're into Windoz systems programming, so WMP shouldn't be a stretch for you Very Happy

Well, it asks me to "update" my player. Embarassed

Downloading WMP 9 or so possibly *could* help but I do not like those
players because of their privacy issues. Evil or Very Mad

It would be nice if you could alternatively provide easily downloadable
OGG Theora videos. WMV is closed source and closed algorithm, and
therefore in my opinion highly depreciated. OGG Theora plays on almost
all systems, or at least can be ported there much easier than WMV. Finally,
downloading the movie and playing it later when browser is shut down is
usually significantly less ressource hungry than "embedded" inside the
browser and therefore available on older PC's also.

Evil or Very Mad

Next time, YOU can rent the conference room, YOU can shoot the conference on your own camera, YOU can edit the video and then YOU can publish it in your favorite format!

NTOSKERNL_VXE - you can ftp download Tomasz's presentation here for off-line viewing outside your browser: http://tinyurl.com/vepr3

It's still in WMV format, but perhaps you know of a conversion program to convert it to your favorite format. If you do convert it, send the conversed file to me and I'll put it up on the ftp site.

The ftp download of MazeGen's presentation can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/y9wwy5

The ftp download of vid's presentation can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/yf9gsb

I hope this helps you.

I'd go with VLC I've really not come across something it can't play.

I know and it does.

The WMV movies do play in both VLC & "MPLAYER", but I also found:

http://www.v2v.cc/~j/ffmpeg2theora/

A VERY easy way to convert proprietary movies to OGG Theora,
works in DOS also.

http://showfile.filevend.com/17376/GmbBvD0h/vid.htm

Transcoded the "vid" movie ^^^ to OGG Theora, missnamed as "MPG",
should be OGG, but moviehost does NOT support OGG Embarassed

See also:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:File_types

The only ^^^ place where WMV is prohibited Very Happy

OGG videos seem not play in DOS by now but this issue has to be
discussed elswhere Wink

WMV3 was obviously recently cracked, but this fact actually does NOT
affect my fundamendal disapproval against WMV and similar closed
fileformats and algorithms, always becoming "standard" in a very obscure way Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Bill Gates surely releases the next version of his "Windoze Movie Faker"
with WMV4 soon and the WMV frustration will continue Evil or Very Mad ...
And he will try to criminalize such semi-legal open source projects like
FFMPEG even more Evil or Very Mad ...

Important fact to mention that all 3 movies are really BIG :
cca 60 MB filesize and 1 hour of time Very Happy
