Hello all,
I am very impressed with the ARM line of chips (ARM1176JZF-S http://www.arm.com/products/CPUs/ARM1176.html using ARMv6 http://www.arm.com/products/CPUs/architecture.html or ARMv7 Instruction set )and having been a software guy, I am not sure how that translates to a programmable pc. I have across gumstix ( http://gumstix.com/index.html ) but gumstix boards only have intel cpu's. How can I get a similar motherboard for ARM chips? I am looking to write an os for ARM chips as a hobby. If I program an OS with FASMARM on gumstix boards (which come with intel cpu's), would that be easily portable to a motherboard with ARM chips at a later date? Any thoughts, please? Thanks |

Those Intel chips are ARM processors.
Just like Itanium architecture chips are Intel made. |
