Dex4u OS can be used as a web server, so i can answer any ?, you have if you have problems, but your ? is a little open, is your serverOS going to be realmode, pmode, ?.
What ethernet card do you have to start with ?, how will it be booted, so we know what drivers it needs eg: floppy fat12 or hdd fat16/32 etc. |

Hello Dex4u!
I dont think about that really which mode it should run. I think i could begin with the RTL8139 or 8129. For beginning a Floppy version would be enought but later a FAT 16/32 usage would be good or simply access fat 16/32 from floppy. Dex, as I know that you are expirienced in OS development, could you help me? My ICQ Number is 228991531. Maybe I am invisible there... |

Here a link that may help http://www.elet.polimi.it/upload/fornacia/progetto_minazzi/index.html
Also you may find my vesa demo a good starting point, as it's got a functions for going to and from realmode to pmode for bios int, which means you can use int 13h. See here: http://www.dex4u.com/demos/DemoVesa.zip PS: I can help you, but i do not use IM, just post if you have a problem, also i was called ASHLEY4 when i made the demo. |

Hey Dex,
thanks for that but it hasn't helped me. I am absolutely not experienced in programming an OS. So I don't know. The only one thing i have written was a boot loader and a simple "hello world" kernel |
