Why don't you just use the IE ActiveX control?
Or the Mozilla (Gecko) one?

Microsoft has an XML parser ActiveX Control. It should be able to read xhtml fine and html to some extent.

Look for MSXML Parser in the Add/Remove programs. It's probably already installed on your system. You can get information about it at http://www.msdn.com
