Way back in the 90's there was a driver I downloaded that outputed all audio to the pc speaker. And it worked, just wasn't very loud.

Thanks for all your answers.
My problem is, that I tried some code pieces that I found on the internet and none of them worked in MenuetOS. Has anyone a good ressource that works? Greets, wolke7 |

Hi all,
I wrote the pc speaker driver for BeOS. PWM is quite soft unless you amplify the output (great on laptops), however you can get reasonable quality. The algorithms are quite simple, but you need access to the speaker IO port. Email me if you want any details at: vader@jpashaw.force9.co.uk |

Just a quick note:
It seems that a userspace program cannot directly access the pc speaker. Only implementing the routines (speakeron, speakeroff, setFrequency) directly into the kernel was the way to go. Greets, wolke7 |
