which one do you prefer?

longer: ERR_ZERO_SIZE, ERR_BUFFER_FULL, ERR_INVALID_HANDLE

or shorter: ERR_ZERO, ERR_BUFFER, ERR_HANDLE

shorter have disadvantage that later we might need to introduce new error constants regarding same thing, eg. some other type of error connected with zero, buffer, or handle.

Please post your ideas and reasons why you choose the one you like... i am not too democratic, poll isn't leading to me. You know, majority is usually wrong Wink

Again reinventing the wheel, vid? Wink

Longer one is self-describing - the source is much better readable. Shorter one leads to confusion and unnecessary comments.

at the risk of sounding like tom tobias (greets tom), i have to agree with MazeGen. readability is enhanced with longer error codes. not everyone writes beautiful, commented code like you vid Very Happy

Like everyone, i rather prefer long codes (errors or others), it's better for you and even for me when i'm reading my own old codes Wink

I dare say the reason will be the same for most people, the more descriptive, the better.

Thanks for asking vid.
