Hi, I've not done any Win32 coding with FASM as yet. I'd like to develop a driver though and was wondering which of these two idea's would be easier and if anyone has some input as to the best way to implement.
Basically I'm thinking of coding a RAM disk driver or one to mount an .iso as if it's an actual CD in a real drive.

Also has anyone written a driver for a custom filesystem under windows?

Thanks in advance.

There are ext filesystem drivers floating around on the net...I think I've seen them. Also there's a RAM-disk driver made by the sysinternal (or was it winternal guys) but I'm too tired to look it up Very Happy

for images there's Daemon-tools. Maybe you can look each program up and contact the authors, how they did it and how long it took.

For a first project I wouldn't suggest any of them...

Cheers Madis731, can't believe out of 70 odd views I've had one comment.

It is a very ambitious first win32 FASM project I grant you. However if you aim high. Yes, you will fail more but you'll also achieve some great things you may not have otherwise.

Thanks again.

I have used FASM before, it's just using it to code for Win32 which is new to me. Actually I wish I had a 64bit copy of XP since I've just got an MSI Megabook L710. Would be nice to get on the 64bit dev bandwagon as early as possible. Guess it might be worth waiting for Vista tho since there are so many changes.
