I know this does not have anything to do with assembler but.....
Sorry if this annoys someone Confused

I have my OS files complied and ready to test and I am using a raw disk read (so I can later devlope my own file system) to access files after the boot loader but to test under linux or anywhere else I want to use qemu and I would like to put all of my file into a file called os.img. Is there a linux program that I can get that will do this? for example. I have files: bootsec.bin, kernel and logo.bmp. I would like to shove them all into one file called os.img. Any help on this would be great. I have the bootsec.bin set to read in the kernel after the first 512 bytes starting at 513 and the kernel to load from byte 934 to get the bitmap. Prob more info than you need!

Thanks in advance.

If you're using a filesystem linux understands, you can use /dev/loop* (man losetup) to "mount a filesystem on a file"...

But it sounds like you're doing simple stuff - "cat bootsec.bin kernel.img > combined.bin" might do what you want.
