I have a little proposal for Tomasz Grysztar: is it possible to include such cool programs from this forum as e.g. babyboy10777's 'Manual EXE' and some programs using Unicode into a 'Examples' directory of standard FASM distribution?

By the way, default examples are too 'ascetic' for beginners (they almost haven't comments).

Regards,
M.H.

tomasz doesn't want other's source in official distribution. But some "codebase" would be nice, altough i don't think it will be that much usable.

The Examples section of this website is for this purpose. I just sometimes forget to include some programs there. See also this old thread.

Precisely commented, simple examples are very important for assembler newbies. Don't forget about people not connected to internet! In this world are many places without cheap, accessible internet (but connected to electricity) - I know it from autopsy. Is that means there aren't young, clever potential FASM programmers? Complete FASM distribution find enough room in one 1.44MB disc.

Because of that I vote 'Yes' in my own poll.

Regards,
M.H.

I think this could be usefull as separate package. What a sense to download same examples each time you download new version of fasm. from other side most of good examples are spreaded at forum so it is hard to find sometimes any - there work has to be provided for collecting, sorting, commenting and testing all of them.

in opposite - this package may contain fasm and includes without fasm sources (to save space) so, anyone who got this package alone could use it immediatelly.

To satisfy both those who wish to get all-in-one to be able to do some immediatelly, and them, who just wish to download latest fasm version, there can be separate distribution eg. "fasmdisk", where should be nearest stable fasm tools without sources, maybe, additional 3rd party tools (eg. scan.exe) and examples. agree, it has to fit floppy unpacked, and space can be saved with fasm sources, just note where someone can get them. this could be the solution.

regards!
