Hi everyone,

I am using FASMW and I am able to compile my first programs. Thats fine.
I write the code, press F9 and all is good.

But now I want to test some 3rd party IDEs like ECE, Fresh, SASM and what ever is there .. I am simple not able to get them running, as all are asking for a linker which I dont need to provide in FASMW.
Could you please help me to setup an IDE correctly?
Are there any recommendations for IDEs? It should have the today standards minumum like line numbering, syntax highlighting...

Many thanks!!!

In the IDE forum there are at least three currently listed.

Listed in the order they appear at time of writing:
  • x64lab
  • Fresh
  • Easy Code
Plus in there are other topics about syntax highlighting for various editors, etc.

I have a simple IDE I coded, but it is not in public domain.
I can make it available, however.
It has most of the features, like Auto-Complete, tooltips, "Go To Definition...", code fragments, etc.
It also has a syntax highlighting configuration, which is cool -- I never seen anyone do this.
However, there is no line numbers -- well, I guess that makes it lame.
Also, when you create a new project -- it is always the Win32 EXE file -- I guess, it is a minus too.

thank you both,
I forgot to mention, yes, x64 would be required.
And debugging as well. (currnetly using x64dbg which is also fine)

But compliments to you that you are able to write something like an IDE. I am very far away still from this kind of program Very Happy

- x64lab: all links dead for me.
- Easy Code looks promissing, but I get bunch of extra files when compiling and linking still fails with
" /OUT not recognized blah blah" when using GoLinker.exe.

I am stuck currently with fasmw, which is the only one which works well for me

A guide for dummies getting fasm to work with EC would be good. SO all examples are compiling as expected etc.

checking SASM at the moment[/b]

I usually stuck with Fresh for writing quick small test apps just to get the syntax highlighting and has basic IDE features.

Fresh 3.0 is looking promising.
