The latest revision of the manuals is 19. How to get the former ones? Or how to get the former "Documentation Changes"? Intel site doesn't seem to provide them. (The revision number is the least significant two-digit number of the file name, e.g. 25366717)

Why I need it: I work on x86 and x87 reference. I use Intel's "Codes for Addressing Method" and "Codes for Operand Type" from revision 17. I noted that the sematic of some codes changed in revision 19 or 18. I would need to know the history of these codes and when exactly they break.

No, I don't want to wait two weeks for "we are sorry but the requested documents are no longer available".

I was thinking also about some nice small anonymous ftp, ehm...

If it's worth anything, I still have the Pentium3 docs:

intel architecture optimization
pentium3 - basic architecture
pentium3 - instruction set reference
pentium3 - system programming

(24319002, 24319102, 24319202, 24512701, 24919925)

Thanks f0dder, but I'd need only Pentium 4 revisions (I actually have revisions 10, 14, 17, 19).

I guess if they want money to ship then you will be asked for your account number or your CC number. Go ahead and "order a printed copy" and if you never get asked for money then you will know it is free, but once you hit the secure HTTPS server and get questions like CC number etc. then you will know ya gotta pay. I've never tried it myself.

Which versions did you need exactly?

ftp://download.intel.com/design/Pentium4/manuals/

252046.PDF outlines changes in the other manuals.

I doubt you'd have to resort to:

Sorry for the stupid question but the "free concept" also includes the shipment costs? (Like Ubuntu but CDs are a lot lightweight when compared to books).

Question
Intel has so many billions of dollars,
few dollars for a shipment will not bankrupt the company Wink

Intel are clever. They give the customers what they want, hence the almost dominant market position (and associated profits). Compare that to ARM ... hmm ... enough said.
